Due to Hurricane Earl the following events have been cancelled or rescheduled:

SoulLive at Nectar’s on Saturday and Sunday night has been cancelled.

The opening reception for the Oak Bluffs Fire Museum has been rescheduled to Sept. 11.

The Vineyard Playhouse has cancelled its performance of Faith Healer for Friday, Sept. 3.

The Vineyard Haven Library will be closed Friday Sept. 3. It will reopen Saturday at 2 p.m. weather permitting. Other town libraries are also expected to close, per the state of emergency.

Shabat services at the Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center have been cancelled. The evening lecture featuring Kitzhia Shaked has been postponed until Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m.

The All Island Tennis Championships opening night cocktail party has been rescheduled to Saturday, Sept. 4, at 5 p.m. Tournament play will work around the weather with matches continuing into Monday if needed.

Seastreak Fast Ferry Service from NJ/NY to Martha’s Vineyard for Sept. 3 has been cancelled. Return trip on Monday, Sept. 6 will sail as scheduled, weather permitting.

New England fast Ferry announced that due to the closure of the hurricane barrier in New Bedford Harbor the only trips operating on Friday, Sept. 3, will be 6:30 a.m. to Vineyard haven and 9:30 a.m. to Oak Bluffs out of New Bedford, and 8 a.m. from Vineyard Haven and 10:50 a.m. from Oak Buffs to New Bedford.

SSA ferries will be on a trip-by-trip basis, with service expected to be suspended mid afternoon.

The Chappy Ferry will be stopping service at noon today.

VTA buses will be running in the morning, but as of last night they were in discussions with state officals about whether to continue service during the period from 2 p.m. Friday to 2 p.m. Saturday, when Gov. Patrick has closed roads to all nonessential traffic.
