Tom and Debbie Bramkamp will return to their home in Cincinnati today after spending the past week at the Menemsha Inn. They missed their annual visits in 2008 and 2009 and had a lot of catching up to do. Perhaps one of the highlights of their trip included having breakfast with yours truly and Capt. Jennifer Clarke at the Menemsha Café where we were all deeply engrossed in Jennifer’s stories of the American Heroes Saltwater Challenge. Of course, Tom and Debbie also enjoyed their shopping at Howwasswee Trading Post and taking home grand pieces of art by Gladys Widdiss and by Donald Widdiss. We look forward to their return next year.

Noah James Manning has enjoyed having his grandparents Bill and Joan as his guests for a long weekend while they enjoyed watching Noah in his soccer game. They returned to their home in New York on Tuesday.

Katie Mayhew, a 2010 regional high school graduate and freshman at SUNY Purchase, has been invited to perform in London at Cadogan Hall which is the home of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. The event will be on Oct. 6, the Inspiration Awards for Women — a big fundraiser and awards event which last year honored among others first lady Michelle Obama and was attended by the likes of Helen Mirren. Katie and her family will fly to London on Oct. 2 for her performance on Oct. 6. This wonderful opportunity came about after Katie was discovered on YouTube by a musical theatre director in London’s West End. All the best to Katie as always and a safe and wonderful journey for all.
