Bacterial water contamination that affected the West Tisbury town hall, Grange Hall and the former town library on Music street has ended after the board of health chlorinated and flushed the well late last week. Samples taken from the well over the weekend tested negative for total coliform and e-coli bacteria and a boil-water notice was rescinded on Tuesday. West Tisbury health agent John Powers is meeting with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection about possible modifications to the well this week, town executive secretary Jennifer Rand told the selectmen at their Wednesday meeting.

In other business, the selectmen also signed off on a contract with Oudens Ello Architecture of Boston for a $39,275 feasibility study for renovation and expansion of the West Tisbury public library.
