Please Adopt Us
All nine kittens that were ready for adoption this week flew out the door as soon as the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard opened. We are so happy that they have all found new homes and everyone was so pleased with them. But don’t forget that we have some beautiful adult cats that have been at the shelter for a long time and really need new homes. The feline roster includes: Angel, a gorgeous flame point Siamese; Tinkerbelle, a very sweet tiger and white female with double paws; Pepper, the mother of five of the kittens who were just adopted (she needs to be spayed, but we will let her go to a good home and when she is ready we will have her spayed); Woody, a black, long-haired sweet cat; Maxine, a female tabby; and Alexander, a big ginger male cat who is a real love.
And the shelter now has five guinea pigs! The new ones are Mia, Mel and Bella plus Piggy Sue and Mocha.
We have two wonderful new dogs: Milo, an adorable tan and white Pekinese who loves everyone; and Nina, a five-year-old year old black Lab-hound cross who is from the Lab rescue. And we still have Rascal, a big handsome Lab-cross who desperately wants to belong to someone who will take him for long walks.
The shelter still needs volunteers. The phone number is 508-627-8662. Hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
