Aquinnah property records online will see a change beginning Jan. 1.

The town board of assessors announced this week that it has contracted with Cartographic Associates Inc. of Littleton, N.H., to host a town online program that will allow access to assessing data, property information, advanced mapping and aerial imagery.

The new program, Query Manager Online, uses an array of new technology for a more interactive, user-friendly experience, assessors said. In addition to property maps and assessing data, users will be able to access the town’s growing Geographic Information System (GIS) to review the DCPC areas, parcel locations and create abutters’ lists. The original division of the Indian Common Land map for Gay Head created in 1870 will be available as a digital overlay.

“The new on-line mapping program provides more up-to-date information with increased opportunities for future expansion,” the assessors said in their announcement. “An added bonus is the expanded features provide a cost savings of $1,300 per year.”

Assessors said Vision Appraisal will no longer be supporting online web hosting for Aquinnah after Dec. 31. After that date the new Web site address for assessor data will be caigisonline.com.
