Dorothy Barker, a longtime resident of Chilmark and Gay Head, celebrated her 100th birthday on Dec. 15 at Windemere, her residence for the past decade. Her two daughters, Judith and Karen, their husbands, a granddaughter, Tara, and a great-granddaughter, Eliza, joined her on this most important milestone birthday. She, as always, enjoyed her dark chocolate, coffee and cake. She received several phone calls from more grandchildren, all of whom enjoy visiting her during the summer months. She also spoke with her brother, Brandon Wight, who now resides in Gainesville, Fla., but was a longtime Vineyarder, most known for his ownership of the Red Barn Gallery. He was unable to make the trip at the time but sent his loving wishes to his sister. It was a lovely day and Dorothy loved all the festivities. The family is looking forward to more special visits this coming spring and summer.
