Please Adopt Us

Eight animals were adopted last week and everyone at the shelter is so pleased! We still have many adoptable cats and one lonely little bunny named Jack.

We also have one new cat, a handsome yellow tiger named Richard. He is being neutered this week and will be ready to go home with a loving family next week. Our other cats are: Binx, a black and white who loves to curl up in her cat tower; Dolly, another black and white cat; Oprah, a tortoiseshell; Woody, a black, long-haired, indoor/outdoor affectionate guy; Maxine, a gentle tabby; Alexander, a big ginger fellow; Tangerine, a very talkative flame point Siamese; Max, a gray and white lovable lap cat; and, last but not least, Charlotte, a long-haired small tabby who is also a wonderful lap cat.

The shelter always needs laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, kitty litter deodorant (Arm and Hammer) and lettuce and fruit for Jack, the bunny. Volunteers are also needed to feed the cats, clean cages and spend time with the animals. If you would like to volunteer please call Lisa at the shelter at 508-627-8662. The hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Susie fund was established to help pay for veterinary bills for animals at the shelter. Donations to the fund are gratefully accepted. Checks may be made out to the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard (please note on the check that it is for the Susie fund) and mailed to P.O. Box 190, Edgartown MA 02539.
