Please Adopt Us

The bitter cold and snow of this past week brought three beautiful young (about eight months old) all-black, female kittens to the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard. All the kittens are sisters; one has already been adopted and the other two are being spayed this week and are available for adoption. The other new resident at the shelter is an eight-month-old Staffordshire terrier who is one of the nicest, most gentle dogs we’ve had in a long time. Her name is Sasha; she is brown and white and as gentle and well-mannered as one could hope for. She loves people, children, cats and other dogs. What more could you ask for? Please come and see her and take her for a walk. And while you are at the shelter, check out our other wonderful cats available for adoption. They are: Binx, an indoor cat, sweet and shy but loves attention; Oprah, a gentle tortoiseshell lap cat; Woody, a long-haired black cat; Maxine, a sweet, rather shy but loving tabby; Alexander, a big, long-haired yellow tiger; and Max, a declawed gray and white indoor cat.

And Jack, the soft brown and white bunny who loves to be held, is still with us and available for adoption.

If you are looking for a special dog or cat, please call the shelter and put your name on our wish list. The telephone number is 508-627-8662. The shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Donations of cleaning supplies, including laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, and Arm and Hammer kitty litter are gratefully accepted, as is canned cat food.
