Edgartown Drug Arrest

Edgartown police arrested David Hermann last Friday for possession with intent to distribute heroin and possession with intent to distribute prescription pills.

After a monthlong joint investigation that included police and the Martha’s Vineyard Drug Task Force, police executed a search warrant at Mr. Hermann’s parents’ home on Teaberry Lane. Police seized approximately $1,600 in cash, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, a scale, razors used for cutting and packaging narcotics, and 10 grams of heroin on Mr. Hermann.

“Edgartown police and the Martha’s Vineyard Drug Task Force signed off at 12:53 at the Hermann residence at which time we entered the house and located Hermann in his bedroom,” officer Michael Snowden said yesterday afternoon. “His parents were present at the execution of the warrant as well.”

Mr. Hermann was wearing an ankle bracelet on a previous charge of conspiracy to violate drug laws in 2009 in upstate New York. The bracelet was part of the condition of his bail.

He was released on $2,500 bail and will be arraigned today in Edgartown district court.
