With only one contest on the ballot for finance committee, turnout was extremely low in the West Tisbury annual town election Thursday, with just 296 voters casting ballots, 12 per cent of those registered to vote.

In a three-way race for two seats on the finance committee, Gary Montrowl and Katherine Triantafilou were elected with 204 and 191 votes respectively, while Joseph K. Gervais trailed with 87 votes.

Richard R. Knabel was reelected selectman with 201 votes. Also elected without contest were: F. Patrick Gregory, moderator, 254; Erik Lowe, board of health, 242; Robert Mone, board of assessors, 221; Katherine Logue, town treasurer, 257; Brent B. Taylor, tax collector, 242; Tara J. Whiting, town clerk, 266; Jeremiah Brown, tree warden, 247; Linda Hearn and Gina Solon, library trustee, 228, 170; Leah J. Smith, planning board, 237; Timothy Maley, constable, 254; Glenn Hearn, land bank commission, 235; Cheryl Lowe and Suzanne Hammon, parks and recreation, three years, 236, 216; Mark (Hap) Bernard, parks and recreation, two years, 220; Lisa Amols, parks and recreation one year, 227.

Town clerk Tara Whiting was the top voter getter.
