Please Adopt Us

It’s black cat time again at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard. We have some beautiful black cats that need homes. Binx, our long-term resident black cat with long, white whiskers would so love to be adopted by a loving family. Then there is Faith, who is all black and so sweet; Socks, who is black and white; and Tammy, a senior long-haired black cat who needs a loving older person to cuddle with into her golden years. Tammy and Socks were given up together because their owner has relocated and cannot take these sweet cats to the new home. Our other new cats are Foxy Lady, a really nice, friendly cat whose owner died; Maxine, a lovely sweet tabby; Snowshoe, also a tabby who has a distinctive white stripe down her face and a beautiful disposition; and Brown Bear, a dark chocolate brown and black Abyssinian-Siamese cross.

We have two beautiful sweet rabbits: Aphrodite, a handsome brown, black and white year-old bunny; and Thumper, a black and white lop-eared rabbit, who is being neutered next week. And Grace, the sweet little guinea pig, is still waiting for a young person to love her.

Shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday through Tuesday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
