Edo Potter to Be Honored

Chappaquiddick author and conservationist Edo Potter will be presented a Lifetime Achievement award at the Edgartown Library Foundation’s annual Legacy of Learning summer brunch on Sunday, July 10 at noon at the Boathouse Field Club.

A former Edgartown selectman, Mrs. Potter has championed many causes and she always has been a strong supporter of the Edgartown Public Library.

The brunch features a raffle and recognition of winning essays in a contest for Edgartown students in grades one through eight. This year’s topic is “If I were the Edgartown Public Library, I would” Prizes will be awarded to winning essays in three levels, with the grand prize of a netbook computer. The essay can discuss important elements of a library, the role the library plays in a community, and perhaps what a new library adjacent to the school might be like. The deadline for entry is May 23 and essays may be submitted to the Edgartown Library or mailed to the Edgartown Library Foundation, P.O. Box 1198, Edgartown.
