Leigh Hammond of West Tisbury, received a bachelor of arts degree in political science from the University of Vermont at commencement ceremonies on May 22.

Caetlyn A. Hutchinson of Aquinnah, received a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University of Vermont at commencement ceremonies on May 22.

Michael W. Klimek of Edgartown has earned a paramedic certificate from Cape Cod Community College.

Anna Markwica, the daughter of Susan Markwica and Frank Markwica, both of Edgartown, graduated on May 22 from Boston University, magna cum laude, with a bachelor of science in early childhood education.

Anna will be teaching second grade at an American International School in Quito, Ecuador, beginning in August.

Samuel Marlin of Vineyard Haven earned a bachelor of science, engineering, degree in computer engineering, cum laude, from the University of New Hampshire on May 21.

Timothy McHugh graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in economics, mathematics from Merrimack College in May.

Matthew L. Montanile of Vineyard Haven has earned a paramedic certificate with high honors from Cape Cod Community College.

Michael Patrick O’Rourke of Vineyard Haven graduated from Curry College on May 15.

Paula Corts of Vineyard Haven has graduated with honors from Cape Cod Community College. Ms. Corts also was named a member of Phi Theta Kappa international honor society.

Samantha B. Rabin, daughter of Karen Bressler and Steven Rabin of Edgartown, received a bachelor of arts degree from Hamilton College on Sunday, May 22. Ms. Rabin graduated summa cum laude with a degree in sociology.

Matthew MacDonald Seklecki, son of Daniel Seklecki and Catherine MacDonald of Vineyard Haven, earned a bachelor of arts, cum laude in political science and history, from Saint Michael’s College, May 16, in ceremonies held on the campus of the liberal arts residential Catholic college located in the Burlington area of Vermont. He also was named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester.

Matthew Mullaney Shipsey, of Dublin, Ireland and Katama, graduated in May from Yale University with a bachelor of arts degree in history.

After a post-graduation celebration on Island with friends, Matthew will be completing a teaching internship in India this summer. He hopes to return to Martha’s Vineyard in the fall to work on writing and research projects.

Dylan Shipsey, of Dublin, Ireland and Katama, graduated from Trinity College in Dublin last year with a degree in business, economics and politics and spent the summer with Irish friends working on Martha’s Vineyard; he now manages a restaurant in Boston, the Back Bay Social Club.

Cory Scott Smith, of Chilmark, has earned a bachelor of science from Excelsior College.

Benjamin T. Stevens of Oak Bluffs has earned a paramedic certificate with high honors from Cape Cod Community College.

Jacob B. Sylvia of Edgartown has earned a paramedic certificate with high honors from Cape Cod Community College.
