Garden Tour

Don’t have your own garden or looking for some pointers on how to create something beautiful? On Thursday, June 30 the Garden Conservancy is hosting a tour of three private gardens in Vineyard Haven and West Tisbury.

East Hill garden at 133 Pasture Gate Road in Vineyard Haven is located on Lake Tashmoo. It features a moongate and split-rail fence draped with New Dawn roses. The Tashmoo garden at 253 West Spring street in Vineyard Haven was begun thirty-two years ago. It includes dawn redwoods, copper beech, and katsura, as well as a hillside of daylilies. The Folly garden at 57 Lambert’s Cove Road in West Tisbury has ivy-covered balustrades and winding hedges that evoke an Italian villa.

Admission to each private garden is $5 and no reservations are required. All gardens open at 10 a.m. but have varying ending times. Call 888-842-2442 or visit opendaysprogram.org for more information.
