All Vineyard beaches are open as of Friday afternoon.

In Chilmark, Squibnocket has reopened; signs warning that swimming was at your own risk have been removed. Town health agent Marina Lent said the state confirmed that average bacteria readings were at acceptable levels, after an anomalous high reading.

In Oak Bluffs, Inkwell beach has reopened today, Oak Bluffs health agent Shirley Fauteux confirmed; all beaches in town are now open.

West Tisbury beaches remain open after some closures last week, and beaches in Aquinnah, Edgartown and Tisbury have been open all summer.

Some Island beaches had been closed over recent weeks due to tests indicating unacceptable bacteria levels.
