Please Adopt Us

Our featured animal this week at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard is a dog named Rocky. He is a two-year-old Beagle/lab cross, medium sized and gets along well with everyone.

Cats available for adoption this week are: Binx, our long-term resident black cat with long white whiskers; Chloe, who is brindle and black; Rascal, a tabby; Ceilia, a black short-haired female; Echo, another black kitty whose owner died; Murray, a pale orange tiger whom we can’t believe hasn’t been adopted, he is so sweet and gentle and loves attention; Kevin, a loving gray and white cat, who would be a wonderful lap cat; and Annabelle, a young tuxedo, who would make a great barn cat. We also have two 11-month-old male kittens — Gibson, who is gray and white, and Quincy, a Russian blue. Both get along very well with other cats and dogs.

The shelter, located on the Edgartown Vineyard Haven Road behind the Vineyard Vet Clinic in Edgartown, would like to extend a warm thank you to all the summer residents who will be leaving the Island soon for their winter homes. Please stop by the shelter before you leave and perhaps adopt one of our beautiful cats.

Please also consider a donation to the shelter. Unopened containers of dog and cat food as well as cleaning supplies including laundry and dish washing detergent are always appreciated. We are funded solely by donations. The Susie Fund was established to pay the medical expenses of animals at the shelter who need medical care. Please make checks out to the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard; the mailing address is P.O. Box 190, Edgartown MA 02539.
