Plum TV, the lifestyles television network that serves eight resort communities including the Vineyard, abruptly closed down operations Tuesday morning.

Calling the move a “massive restructuring,” the company told employees it will continue to air its local television programming, but the Vineyard staff has been let go, said Tina Miller, general manager for Plum TV on the Vineyard.

“We’re all done,” Ms. Miller said. “My entire staff has been told to move out of the office by the end of the day.”

Ms. Miller said Plum TV founder Tom Scott called her last night, and followed up this morning with a conference call with employees at 10 a.m. “It was incredibly brief. He said to everyone, ‘You don’t have a job,’” she said.

Signs of trouble in the company surfaced last week when Jerry Powers, CEO of the Miami-based company, resigned, and Mr. Scott took the reins he formerly held. The story was covered prominently in the Miami Herald. Plum opened its Vineyard station seven years ago; Ms. Miller has been general manager since 2007. She said the station employed four full-time employees plus a number of freelancers and three program hosts.

No company statement had been prepared for the public or the media, Ms. Miller said. “It’s all incredibly disappointing,” she added.
