Cycle MV Ride
How are the thighs feeling? Good or really, really, really good. If in the second category, the Island has just the event for you this Saturday, Oct. 1. Hop on a bike and ride 100 kilometers for charity. For those of the wimpy sort there is also a 50K race.
The ride is the annual Cycle Martha’s Vineyard benefit for the Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard and Windemere at the hospital. At the end of the race, when you’re so famished you could eat a sea robin, there will be a pig roast and music to ease your chafing legs.
The 100K ride sets off at 9:30 a.m. and the 50K ride begins at 11 a.m. Both rides start and end at the Portuguese-American Club in Oak Bluffs.
