Arboretum Award

On June 28 the Polly Hill Arboretum’s newsletter, Meristems, received theDorothy E. Hansell Publication Award for newsletters and special publications at the American Public Gardens Association (APGA) annual meeting.

Entries are evaluated according to structure and overall design, appropriate use of graphics, fonts,text, and content. The judges were impressed with the quality of the newsletter and its value as a resource to the public gardenprofession. The Arboretum’s Nancy Weaver was on hand to receive the award from Daniel Stark, Executive Director, APGA and Marnie Conley, Marketing & Public Relations Department Head, Longwood Gardens.

The Arboretum’s newsletter is mailed to members twice a year. Meristem is a botanical term defining the growing point or area of rapidly dividing cells at the tip of a stem, root, or branch.
