Please Adopt Us

Sadly, Santa wasn’t able to find homes for any of the animals at the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard, and now our cages are filling up quickly.

Our featured animals this week are our two dogs. Missy is a pure bred pit bull who is as sweet as she is pretty, but is a special needs dog who has been at the shelter too long and needs to go to a permanent home with a fenced-in yard and no other animals. Our other dog is a handsome male Chesapeake Bay retriever named Mackenzie, sweet and gentle and seems to love other animals. Come and see these two lovable animals for yourself.

Our cats who are sill looking for new homes are: Chloe and Butter, two friendly brindle and black kitties; Annabelle, a black and white shy cat; Ceilia, the shelter mascot, all black; Napoleon, a beautiful Maine Coon cat who had been fostered but has come back to the shelter and is now ready to find a permanent home; Agatha, gray and white, very friendly; beautiful Kitty Randolph or just plain Kitty, a wonderfully friendly tabby; Westie and Deacon, two handsome ginger tiger cats who crave attention; Eric, a senior ginger tiger; Olive, a young female tabby just learning her way around the shelter; Velma, another tabby; Shalimar, who is white and brown; and Lily, who is black.

Shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday through Tuesday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
