Youth Hockey
The Ryan Mone Memorial Tournament, hosted by Martha’s Vineyard Youth Hockey, will be played at the MV Arena this weekend. Games begin this evening at 5 p.m. and continue Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. and Sunday at 7:30 a.m..
Last Saturday, the MV Peewees played Hetland to a 2-2 tie with Jacob Gunderson scoring first for the Vineyard and Justin Alexander potting the second goal.
On Sunday, the Mites took on 12-0 Nantucket in a double-header, falling 6-2 in the first game and holding the Whalers to a 4-4 tie in the second.
The Squirts 2 team played Gateway on Sunday, winning 5-1 on four goals by Hunter Ponte and one by Jackson Pachico. The team took on the Lower Cape Coyotes at home the next day in a double-header. The Squirts won their first game 12-1, the second game ended in a 1-1 tie.
