The first snowfall of the season sped over the Vineyard last Saturday. The National Weather Service cooperative station in Edgartown recorded close to 8 inches of snow. Melted precipitation was .45 inches.

The origins of the storm came from the west, but its center storm passed to the south of the Vineyard. Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket and Cape Cod got the brunt of the snowfall. There was significantly less farther inland.
