Martha’s Vineyard Youth Hockey hosted the Ryan Mone Memorial Tournament last weekend, with the MV Mites and the MV Squirts (White team) each taking second place in their respective divisions. The Purple Squirts team took third place after winning the consolation game 7-1 on the back of Hunter Ponte’s seven goals.

The Squirt 2 team will play Lower Cape tomorrow at 11:50 a.m. at the Martha’s Vineyard Arena, while Squirt 1 takes on Gateway at 9:40 a.m. on Sunday. The Mites have a busy weekend ahead, taking on Dennis-Yarmouth in an away doubleheader Saturday and returning home for a Gateway matchup on Sunday at 10:40 a.m.

The MV Peewees played Gateway on home ice Sunday, taking a 6-2 win on the back of Jacob Gundersen’s hat trick. Jack Murray scored twice, while Colin Buckley had one goal. Colin and Jacob also had assists, as did Julia Levesque. The Peewees will play Gateway again this weekend in a doubleheader away matchup.
