Please Adopt Us

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has a few nice animals who need good homes. This week we are featuring two special cats who have been at the shelter for a long time and would so love to find their forever homes. Chloe and Butter are striking, sweet brindle tortoiseshell, spayed females. Chloe came from an abusive home and is slowly learning to trust and give as much love and attention as she is getting from our great volunteers. Butter is only 3 years old and would make a good house lap cat.

Our other cats who are equally deserving of your consideration are: Annabell, who is black and white and needs love and attention; Ceilia, our beautiful shelter mascot who is a real lap cat; Napoleon, our handsome gray Maine coon cat; Kitty Randolph, a gentle, gray striped, tiger tabby; Westie and Deacon, both lovely pale orange tiger cats; and Eric, a loving elderly ginger tiger. The shelter will forgo any adoption fee for Eric if some kind guardian angel will adopt him and give him a nice warm home and lots of love. Lily is new to the shelter. She already has found her way around its nooks and crannies and gets along well with other cats. Tigger, a gray and white 3-year-old neutered male cat, loves to curl up in a soft bed.

Mackenzie is a handsome Chesapeake Bay retriever who would love to find someone to take him for long walks on the beach. As would Missy, our sweet, well-trained pit bull who loves car rides and long walks. Missy is exceptionally well trained and knows all her obedience commands, but is not fond of other dogs. She would do well in a fenced-in yard.
