On Saturday, Feb. 18, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. the annual NAACP and Martin Luther King membership and awards dinner takes place at the Grill located at 227 Upper Main street in Edgartown. The evening features a conversation on civil rights with Lucy Hackney, Rose Styron, and Betty Rawlins.

The awards this year are being presented to Karen Achille, Armen Hanjian, and Connie Texeira for their commitment and service over the years to the Vineyard community.

During the social hour before dinner there will be a silent auction to benefit the Martha’s Vineyard chapter of the NAACP.

Tickets are $80 and include a membership to the MVNAACP.
