Academy Open House

Falmouth Academy will host an admissions open house on Saturday, May 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. for families interested in learning more about the school. A van will pick up Vineyard families at 2 p.m. in Woods Hole to transport them to the school, and will return to Woods Hole in time for the 5 p.m. ferry.

More than 20 students from the Vineyard will attend the school next year.

Visitors to the open house will learn why Falmouth Academy is a school with no back rows, and how a philosophy of active engagement by all students determines not only the layout of the classrooms but, more importantly, the way students learn. Falmouth Academy students, teachers and parents will be on hand to discuss their experiences at the school. Prospective families will also have the opportunity to view the school’s Spring art show, which highlights student work in painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture and woodworking.

On the same day, at 7 p.m., the school’s drama department will present its spring play, Around the World in 80 Days.
