Bellydance Revue

Today, May 11, is all about the bare belly as the Vineyard Bellydance and Revue hits our shores at the Katharine Cornell Theatre in Vineyard Haven. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.

On hand will be local shimmyers as well as featured guest dancers from around New England bringing with them dance styles from around the world. In addition, there will be a performance by jazz vocalist, Jerri Wells, who has previously performed with Count Basie in New York city.

Shimmy, as the evening is called, is a family-friendly event. Suggested donations are $8. And for those who think they might want to run away and join the bellydancing circus, accessories will be for sale. Money raised during the evening supports free community belly dance performances throughout the year.
