It is Tuesday night and I am still pondering the weather we had today. I looked up to the right of me and there was blue sky with white puffy clouds. I looked to the left of me and the sky was black. I thought the sky would drop lots of rain on us, but nothing. Nature will never cease to amaze me.

Happy Birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Isabelle Murphy, who celebrated her day June 23; Daniel Gaines, June 24, and Amber Cuthbert, Rowna Gruffydd and Isabella Vasiliadis, who all celebrated their day June 26.

Special birthday wishes go out to Charlie Fenske, who is turning 13 on July 2.

I met up with Laura Alexander, who opened a new Pilates studio, Evolve, in Edgartown this week. The studio is offering three mat classes a day, along with private and semi-private sessions. It is located at 250 Upper Main street. For more information, call 508-627-6060.

The Federated Church touring choir will participate in services on July 8 at the Federated Church. They will sing the prelude, do anthems during the service and will conclude with a short concert of sacred music. The service begins at 10:30 and the concert will begin at about 11:30. There will be a reception afterward where enthusiastic choristers will share memories of the trip and show pictures of the tour. All are welcome to attend the service and the concert.

I can’t believe it is Fourth of July already. But when I left work on Tuesday and the traffic was up to the gas station, I soon realized that it truly was summer.

Hope you all have a happy and safe Fourth of July. Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
