A New Hampshire man died at a Boston hospital Tuesday nearly two weeks after being injured in a Fourth of July car accident on the Vineyard that also killed his girlfriend.

According to a family friend, Seth Vieara Jones, 26, of Dummer, N.H., died early Tuesday evening. His death was confirmed by a spokesman at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Mr. Jones was taken off life support and was surrounded by family and friends, Melanie Devoid, the family friend, told the Gazette.

According to an obituary, services for Mr. Jones will be held on Monday at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish in Berlin, N.H.

Funeral services were held last weekend for Mr. Jones’s girlfriend, Heather Laflamme, 21, of Berlin, N.H., who died on July 7 after sustaining injuries in the two-car crash on Barnes Road on the afternoon of July 4. Both were passengers in the back seat of a Jeep Wrangler driven by Mr. Jones’s father, Thomas C. Jones. His mother, Margaret (Peggy) Jones, was a passenger in the front seat.

Mrs. Jones was listed in good condition at Beth Israel last week, and she was transferred to another facility on July 14, a spokeswoman for the hospital said.

The other car involved was a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan driven by Benjamin T. Johnson, 19, of Cambridge.

The accident remains under investigation by state police.

Mr. Jones, the eldest of four brothers, was a Marine who served two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, his obituary said. He had been working as an welder at the Portsmouth Naval Yard.

Mr. Jones was born in Oak Bluffs, and his grandparents, Bill and Lee Jones, divide their time between Richmond, Va. and Martha’s Vineyard. He was a 2004 graduate of Berlin High School and a member of the St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Mr. Jones was also an avid baseball player in his youth and through high school, his obituary said, and he was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

Friends and family have said that there has been an outpouring of support for Mr. Jones and his family from the Berlin, N.H. community, Vineyarders, and from fellow Marines.
