Please Adopt Us

The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has four adorable 12-week-old kittens, one male and three females, gray-and-white, short-haired. Call the shelter or drop by to see them.

The shelter also has an older male blue Siamese cross named Moses; Pete, a ginger short-haired male; Douglas, a long-haired black cat; Rex, an older long-haired black and white tuxedo cat who needs a patient loving person with time to spend loving him; and Sweet Potato, a two-year-old male tabby-Abyssinian cross; and last but not least, Celia, the black shelter mascot who greets everyone.

The shelter also has an adorable black and brown guinea pig named Pinto who would make a loving pet for any child.

With Labor Day just around the corner, the shelter is losing most of its summer volunteers and thanks them so much for all the work they did making the animals happy and the shelter clean and neat.

Shelter hours are Wednesdays 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday through Tuesday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.

Volunteers are needed and contributions are always gratefully accepted; the shelter is funded solely by donations. The Susie Fund was established to pay the medical expenses of animals at the shelter who need medical care. Please make checks out to The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard; the mailing address is P.O. Box 1829, Edgartown MA 02539.
