The Rev. Canon Edward Rodman, John Seeley Stone professor of pastoral theology and urban ministry at the Episcopal Divinity School in Cambridge, will lead services this Sunday at Trinity Church in Ocean Park. A well-known advocate for reform of the country’s legal, housing and education systems, the subject of Rev. Rodman’s sermon will be The Road From Charity to Justice.

Over his 45-year career in the ministry, Rev. Rodman helped organize the Union of Black Episcopalians, served as a member of the executive council of the Episcopal Church and coordinated the Episcopal Urban Caucus. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Hampton Institute and his doctorate in humane letters from St. Augustine’s College. He also holds a doctorate in divinity from the Episcopal Divinity School.

Located across from the Steamship Authority in Oak Bluffs, Trinity Episcopal Church is the first Episcopal house of worship built on Martha’s Vineyard. It offers a diverse schedule of visiting clergy through September 23.

Services are held at 9 a.m.
