Sarah DeWitt Jones and Scott Robert Hill are pleased to announce their engagement. Ms. Jones and Mr. Hill, both of Melrose, will be married Oct. 6 at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in West Tisbury.

Mr. Hill is the son of Robert Frank Hill and Carolyn Ann Hill of Morro Bay, Calif. Ms. Jones is the daughter of Douglas Stuart Jones of Manchester, Conn., and Rebecca Boggs Groene of Winfield, Kans. She is the granddaughter of Ralph and Alvida Jones of West Tisbury, and the great-granddaughter of the late Dionis Riggs of West Tisbury.

This will be the first wedding of Ms. Jones’s generation to be at her family’s homestead, the Cleaveland House, and will continue the tradition of past generations.
