On Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m., the Josiah Quincy Elementary School in Boston will dedicate the auditorium to the late Mary Elizabeth Shugrue, known as Molly.

A former Chilmark summer resident, Molly was a student at the Quincy School from 1989 until 1993. Her passion for the stage began as a member of the school’s Chinese Dance Troupe, which performs at Chinese New Year celebrations and other Boston functions. After attending Boston Latin School, Molly graduated from New Hampshire’s Dublin School.

Throughout her undergraduate years, she was a dancer and actor who enjoyed significant roles in many school and college productions. Molly, who completed her studies at Boston’s School of the Museum of Fine Arts, died of multiple seizures on Jan. 7, 2008, following complications of schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. She was 26.
