After a pause in high school sports this week due to exams, all the varsity teams return to competition for a busy day Saturday. The boys’ hockey team, which landed a berth in the state postseason tournament last weekend, travels to Coyle and Cassidy. The boys are 10-2 and Saturday’s match will be the final for the two rival teams in regular season play. The girls’ squad is still in the hunt for the postseason, with a 6-4-1 record, and hosts Quincy/North Quincy, a league opponent, at 1 p.m. Saturday on home ice at the Martha’s Vineyard Arena. The girls’ basketball team holds a first-place berth in the Eastern Athletic Conference and has already qualified for the postseason tournament. On Saturday they host league opponent Bishop Feehan. The game tips off at 3:15 p.m.

Boys’ basketball travels to Feehan Saturday. Much like the boys’ hockey team and Coyle, the Vineyard-Feehan rivalry is ongoing. Feehan is undefeated at home this year, but fell to Martha’s Vineyard when they visited the Sancy Pachico Gym earlier this month. The boys were one of the three teams that qualified for the tournament last weekend.

The fledgling swim team hosts Nauset Regional in the YMCA pool on Saturday. The team had two narrow losses in their past two meets — the boys lost by just one point — and are back at full strength as team members return from bouts with the flu. Nauset is a powerhouse team, currently undefeated and leading the Bay Colony League. The co-ed swim meet begins at 2 p.m.
