Casey McCurdy and David Jiménez Barrantes were married on March 24, 2012 on a bright, sunny afternoon in the rainforest at the Tilajari Resort Hotel, overlooking the San Carlos River near Mt. Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna, Costa Rica.

Ms. McCurdy is the daughter of Tom and Jennifer McCurdy and granddaughter of Pamela Cassel of Vineyard Haven. She is a graduate of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. She began her studies in philosophy at the University of Heredia in Costa Rica, and later received her degree from Tufts University. Ms. McCurdy teaches English as a second language in Heredia and manages the Wind’s Up! store on the Vineyard during the summer months.

Mr. Barrantes is the son of Jorge Jiménez and Emilia Barrantes of Cuidad Quesada, Costa Rica. He is a graduate of the Costa Rican Technological Institute and a software engineer with Growth Acceleration Partners in Heredia.

After a honeymoon in Nicaragua the couple returned home to Heredia, Costa Rica.
