Well, we are waiting for yet another storm. I know it has been dark and gloomy and snowy and rainy, but I am glad we are not watching the TV for tornado warnings like a few of my friends in Florida. Good luck to all.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Quinn Filault, who celebrated his day Feb. 23; Tristan Blair and Jason Welty, Feb. 24; Benjamin Belisle, Feb. 26; Dylan Burke, Sarah Lively and Christopher Patnaude, who all celebrate Feb. 28; and to Samuel Benjamin and Kelsey Fiske, who celebrate their day today, March 1.

I am happy to report that Kathy Perry is back at home. She is at her own home and even has ventured out for a short walk from her house to the stop sign at the end of her road. Welcome home, Kathy; take good care of yourself.

I don’t know how many of you feed the birds, but I have been having a hard time keeping the feeders full and keeping the snow off of them. The mourning doves just sit on the snowy feeders looking in my window as if to say, “come and shovel this off.” I have had many chickadees and nut hatches and of course blue jays and cardinals. They are so much fun to watch and are happy to have the food.

I was walking around my gardens and noticed the crocuses are up. Some have prominent blooms on them. Also, the day lilies are starting to grow and the hydrangeas have their new leaves showing. It certainly is a sign of spring coming.

The Wharf is closed until March 17 for its yearly makeover and clean-up. If you are looking for a place to go, the Grill on Main is still offering two-for-one meals Thursday through Saturday. Chef Tony Saccoccia offers a great meal and the chocolate bread pudding is to die for. The service is great and Tony always has a smile for you when you walk in the door.

Some people have headed north for a skiing vacation while others have headed south to Florida for the warmth. Whatever you are doing, I hope you are having a great time and that some of you will share tales of your adventures when you return.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
