The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard has two animals waiting for adoption.
Jerry is a little brown Chihuahua whose buddy Millie was adopted a couple of weeks ago. He is a little afraid of young children and would do best in a home with adults or children over 15.
Teresa is a beautiful young tortoiseshell whose two kittens were both adopted just a few days ago and she is all alone in the cat room. She will be spayed in a few days and will then be ready to go to her new home. She and her two five-week-old kittens were abandoned on our doorstep. If you love Torties, you will love Teresa.
And a reminder: Please do not abandon an animal on the shelter doorstep or anywhere. If you cannot keep your animal you may contact the shelter and your animal will be taken in and given love and good care, no questions asked.
Shelter hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Saturdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The shelter is closed Sunday and Monday. The telephone number is 508-627-8662.
Contributions are always gratefully accepted; the shelter is funded solely by donations. Please make checks out to The Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard; the mailing address is P.O. Box 1829, Edgartown MA 02539.
