Last weekend was great. It was warm and sunny with no wind so that we could walk on the beach. Everyone was smiling and out doing something. Now, bang, as fast as you know it, the sun is still shining but it is freezing, and now we have some snow falling. I think one of the funniest videos I watched this week was a lady getting out of her car when her yard was still full of snow. The driveway was just wide enough for the car and for her to get out. On the way up the path to her house was a snowman. She looked at it, took her pocketbook and smashed its head right off. Now, it may seem violent, but I have to say many people are feeling the same way.

Happy birthday to all who celebrated their day this past week. Big balloons go out to Quinn Filiault, who celebrated his day Feb. 23; Tristan Blair and Jason Welty, who celebrated Feb. 24; Floyd Hershey, Feb. 25; Benjamin Belisle, Feb. 26; Dylan Burke, Sarah Lively and Christopher Patnaude, who all celebrated their day Feb. 28.

This is school vacation week and I know there are a lot of people on vacation. I have read and heard everyone saying they were going south to get warm and see green. I hope they are all having a great time and share their adventures with us.

My crocuses are peeking their little green heads out of the ground. This always makes me smile as they will be blooming even if it is snowing. Then come the daffodils, which means we are really getting closer to spring.

I’m sure there are a lot of people besides me who are happy that the Olympics are over. I loved watching most of the sports, but, of course, the ones I really liked were on at 11 p.m. Most of all I am glad they are all home safe with no incidents.

Have a great week and keep the home candles burning.
