Millions in capital spending on town buildings, interior renovations to a historic town hall and fractious environmental debate over a dammed freshwater pond that dates to the 1600s are all central issues on the warrants when annual town meetings convene tonight in Oak Bluffs, Edgartown and West Tisbury.

The Oak Bluffs meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the performing arts center of the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. Moderator Jack Law will preside. Top issues on the warrant include $15 million for a new town hall and fire station in separate articles.

The Edgartown meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Old Whaling Church. Moderator Philip J. Norton Jr. will preside. Top issues include a statement by the town finance committee not recommending the Martha’s Vineyard Commission budget assessment this year.

The West Tisbury meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the elementary school gymnasium. Moderator F. Patrick Gregory presides. The top issue on the warrant is the long-running and increasingly heated debate over best management methods for the Mill Pond.

Annual town elections are Thursday.
