The town of Tisbury throws itself a birthday party on Tuesday, July 8, as it hosts the annual Tisbury Street Fair from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on the Main street of Vineyard Haven. There will be food, face painting, a dunking booth, live music, shopping, and some hang-out time with Vineyard firemen. No telling what the town birthday pinata might be.

Parking could be tight, a veritable Five Corners times 20 type of thing, so catch a ride at the regional high school, where you can take advantage of the park and ride service.

If it rains, the party moves to Wednesday, July 9.
