Three years ago, the Martha’s Vineyard Museum held its first portrait contest inspired by the National Portrait Gallery’s annual contest. Beginning Oct. 1, the museum began accepting entries for the second Island Faces contest. Entries will be accepted through March 1, 2015, with the winning portraits debuting next summer on June 12, 2015.

Portraits must be original work, two dimensional drawings, paintings, photographs or mixed media and not larger than three feet by three feet. The portrait should depict a Martha’s Vineyard resident, either year round or seasonal. It can also be a self-portrait.
