On Sunday the Unitarian Universalists are welcoming Ellie Bates to the podium. Ms. Bates will be leading the service through her poetry, and talking about what it means to be a poet. She credits her time living on Navajo and Kiowa reservations as giving form to her world view.

Moon by Ellie Bates

Flowing grey clouds
shroud a white light
over and over
they pass hiding
your fullness
gone
in a minute
you reappear
everything changes
when we stare
at the sky

Services begin at 11 a.m. and take place at 238 Main street in Vineyard Haven.
