This has been a week that I just never imagined with the passing of Robbie Manning. There have been glimmers of light for us though, with the outpouring of love and support from so many of our family members near and far, our friends and Rob’s friends with the messages, cards, telephone calls and hugs. There have been many angels among us this past week, and we thank them immensely for their great deeds. For now, we are planning a memorial service in March and will be setting up a trust fund account for his three children — Robert Edee, Ryleigh Jade and Logan James Manning. In his memory, please perform a random act of kindness each day to assist those in need. Robbie will always be lovingly remembered by all who knew him over his short 31 years.

Condolences to the family and friends of Jennifer Entine Matz who passed away on Dec. 6 in San Francisco. Jennifer was the daughter of Jean Entine of Aquinnah and Alan Entine. She was the mother of Madeleine and Tobias. She is also survived by her sister Sarah. Jennifer was the director of Waterfront Development at the mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development in San Francisco. Services will be held in San Francisco on Tuesday.

Kayla Manning and my great-granddaughter Kylee Rose were also guests of the Carroll family for Thanksgiving. How could I have forgotten them in my column a week ago; they rode home with me that evening.

Anne Reveruzzi of Raymond’s Hill will have a display of her photographs at Santander Bank at Beetlebung Corner through Dec. 26 during banking hours.

Happy Hanukkah.
