A winter of success for the regional high school athletes concluded Monday as the final names for conference all-stars were released. Thirteen Vineyard student athletes received honors in their respective conferences.

Seniors Alex GordonBeck, Timmy Roberts, and Mac Sashin all earned nods for varsity basketball in the Eastern Athletic Conference. The team shared the conference championship title for the sixth straight year. Roberts, a co-captain, and GordonBeck also competed in the annual Cape and Islands All-Star Game, held last weekend in Hyannis.

For the girls’ basketball team, sophomore Erin Hill, freshman Molly deBettencourt and senior Mariah Duarte will represent the Vineyard on the Cape and Islands All-Star team. Hill and deBettencourt were conference all-stars as well.

Sophomores Aiveras Gedvilas and Olivia Smith represented the Vineyard’s newly formed indoor track team in league honors.

Junior Emerson Mahoney was named a conference all-star for boys’ hockey.

Girls’ hockey, boys’ swimming, and girls’ swimming do not compete in the Eastern Athletic Conference. Senior girls’ hockey co-captains Aubrey Ashmun and Sydney Davies earned all-star honors in the Southeastern Massachusetts Girls Hockey League. This marks Ashmun’s third straight appearance on the list.

In the Bay Colony Conference, where the swimmers compete, sophomores Patrick Best and Renee Goodale were named all-stars, as was freshman Lia Potter. Goodale and Potter both competed in the division two state meet last month.
