This weekend Shakespeare for the Masses performs their take on All’s Well That Ends Well. This means they will be cutting to the chase, and the essence, of the play in order to bring its running time to under an hour. Think of it as Shakespeare for the Masses and the multitaskers. You can spend the rest of the evening reading Tolstoy.

All’s Well That Ends Well was originally thought to be straight comedy, but over the centuries experts have located the tragedy within the laughs — and so perhaps have Nicole Galland and Chelsea McCarthy, the organizers and editors of this troupe.

Showtimes are Saturday, April 11, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, April 12, at 1 p.m. Both shows are free and take place at the Katharine Cornell Theatre, 24 Church street, Vineyard Haven.
