Ron MacLaren of Oak Bluffs has been announced as the new executive director of The Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, Inc.

Mr. MacLaren graduated from the University of Southern California in 1979 with a B.A. in Economics. After four years as an active duty officer in the United States Navy, he served as a reserve officer.

Mr. MacLaren earned an MBA from Auburn University, and then began a career in hospital administration, serving as the CEO for nearly 20 years of several for-profit hospitals.

After retiring to the Vineyard, he served as the health director for the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah) before being called up to active duty in 2010 to 2015 as a Rear Admiral with the United States Navy in the Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir, Va. The Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, Inc. (MVCMA) is a private religious foundation and has been in existence since 1835.
