This weekend the 26th annual Family Planning Art Show transforms the Agricultural Hall in West Tisbury into a community art gallery. The event is the largest fundraiser of the year for Family Planning of Martha’s Vineyard. All the artists are local and donate at least 40 per cent of the profits of any sale to the organization.

“This year there are over 100 artists,” said Jennifer Pillsworth, one of the organizers. “And a lot of the artists are planning to donate 100 per cent of the profits.”

Family Planning of Martha’s Vineyard offers free reproductive health care for men and women. “On April 1, they had 19 people come in, ranging from 14 years old to 79 years old,” said Ms. Pillsworth.

In years past, the show began on Thursday night with an opening reception, but this year the big party is on Saturday, May 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. The show officially opens on Friday, May 22, and runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
