The winners of the 2015 Best of the Vineyard awards will be announced on Friday, June 12 at a party hosted by Martha’s Vineyard Magazine, the sponsor of the annual readers’ choice contest.

The party will be held at The Loft at Dreamland in Oak Bluffs. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the awards ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m.  The public is invited, and tickets are $30, which includes drinks, snacks and prizes.

“We always time the Best of the Vineyard party just before the season really heats up so our winners actually have the time to attend,” said Paul Schneider, editor of the magazine. “We’re also celebrating the Martha’s Vineyard Magazine’s 30th anniversary this year, so this should be a great event.“

More than 3,000 people participated in this year’s balloting, selecting winners in 84 categories ranging from best breakfast sandwich to best dentist to best yoga studio.  Voting opens each year in July and runs through the following May. Anyone can vote for their favorites online at mvmagazine.com, but individuals can only vote once in each category.

The full list of winners will be published in the July issue of Martha’s Vineyard Magazine, which hits the newsstands in late June, Mr. Schneider said.

Part of the Vineyard Gazette Media Group, Martha’s Vineyard Magazine has been hosting the Best of the Vineyard awards since 2001, when it took over the awards from the Vineyard Gazette.

Last year’s party drew more than 400 people, said Skip Finley, director of sales and marketing for the Vineyard Gazette Media Group. Sponsors of this year’s event include Comcast Business, Cronig’s Market, Edible Vineyard magazine, Our Island Club and Offshore Ale Co

“This is a chance to meet and mingle with the Island’s top business owners, food purveyors, retailers and community leaders before the summer crowds arrive,” he said.
