On Sunday, July 5, former Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick will lead the service at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs. In his two terms as governor, Mr. Patrick oversaw the expansion of affordable health care, launched initiatives stimulating clean energy and biotechnology, and won a national Race to the Top grant. He currently serves as a managing director of Bain Capital LLC.

Union Chapel is located in Oak Bluffs at the intersection of Circuit, Kennebec and Narragansett avenues. The service begins at 10 a.m.

Future speakers new to Union Chapel this summer include Reverend Dr. Patricia A. Havis from the Central CME Church in Detroit; Reverend Dr. Calvin Butts, the senior pastor from the Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem; Reverend Brandon Thomas Crowley from the Myrtle Baptist Church in West Newton, Mass.; and Reverend Burns Stanfield, Senior Pastor at Fourth Presbyterian Church in South Boston.

The interfaith service on July 12 will be conducted by Rabbi Caryn B. Broitman of Martha’s Vineyard Hebrew Center, Dr. Sarah Sayeed, the Director of Community Partnerships at the Interfaith Center of New York and Reverend Dr. Deborah Finley-Jackson, Union Chapel trustee and Associate Minister of St. Mark AME Church in Jackson Heights, N.Y.
