Hurrah, hurrah for Skipper! The sad cat who has been grieving the death of his owner was the next evacuee to leave the shelter last week. I knew his new owner would be happy to hear that he came out of his shell. Also adopted this week was Bobbi, our 10-week-old little bobtailed girl. She was shy until Missy worked her magic and soon she was leaping and bounding and purring and playing.

The explosion of ragdoll cats that arrived at the shelter last week has been minimized by two, but we still have two beautiful boys left: Toby, an orange and white purring machine, and Sammy, a seal point with the bluest of eyes. They would love for you to come and meet them. Still in the adoption room is Nike, another orange and white boy who is short haired and full of affection, and Bubba and Forrest, two brothers that are every bit the characters that they were named after. They also think that life is like a box of chocolates.

It looks like Polly our double-pawed girl is starting to nest, so maybe some kittens soon.

Thank you to all the donors and grantors who give so generously to the shelter. Because of their generosity, we are so lucky to have O’Brien’s Fine Home Builders here replacing doors and windows and making many other much-needed repairs. It’s been so hot and these guys never stop working — they’re amazing.

Stay tuned for more tails from the shelter. Have a good week.
